As a response to feedback from schools at our open event we would like to invite schools to one of the following KHNES local surgeries. The purpose of the open surgery is to provide you or a member of your team with an opportunity to discuss any potential referrals or cases that you would like some guidance on where a young person has a medical condition that is preventing them accessing education.
Last year we provided advice and guidance on 137 cases across the county of which 96 pupils were able to remain supported in their schools with 46 of these progressing to additional support with our KHNES.
This year we have tried to improve access to our Service by offering theses surgeries or informal referral discussions with our Referrals Manager in order to provide earlier intervention and advice for young people. So far this year we have triaged 75 cases and the feedback from schools has been positive with the request of more such localised surgeries.
If you have not referred to our Service and would like to find out more about how we are able to support then you are also welcome to come along and talk to one of the team. The dates and locations are will be updated on this page once confirmed. In the meantime you are welcome to arrange a triage meeting on the phone with Mrs Bignell (Referrals Manager) by ringing her on 01732 875694.
If you would like to discuss specific cases please ensure that you have parental consent to share this information with us in order that we all comply with GDPR and confidentiality legislation.
