Welcome to Ebbsfleet

The Ebbsfleet hub is located in Swanscombe, Kent and part of the Thames Gateway, it is located southwest of Gravesend.  It is named after the valley of the Ebbsfleet River, which it straddles. The hub has easy access to the A2, M25 and M2.

We have a great, completely new self-contained facility that includes functional learning areas and students areas with seating, which can be used for Life Skill lessons. EbbsfleetIt is hoped that in the future the open space will become a dedicated area for students to relax and have a break, whether it’s to sit quietly and read in the book corner, or play table football or pool with their peers.

We have different size classrooms according to needs of the group, and timetables are tailored around the changing needs of the young person as they progress. The dedicated staff each have different specialisms in order to cater for all abilities and ages of pupils from Primary to Grammar and can support students prepare and access their examinations.

Our unit supports the partnership team around the young person and can host multi-agency meetings, for example with the pupils host school and parents in our meeting room.

The ideology of the unit is a stepping stone approach, to support students in our provision to the best of their ability for as long as they are with us, in a calm and supportive atmosphere. This allows for continuation of their studies, for normally around 8-10 weeks ; until we can help and support them to successfully reintegrate back into the mainstream school.

A bespoke timetable, often attending part time initially, is arranged for each student. The main focus is on core subjects Maths, English, Science, ICT with the addition of P.S.D. Initially some of that may be required to be provided by our home tutors if felt appropriate, whilst introducing students to the hub site gradually. The ultimate aim is for students to feel at ease and be able to fully access the hub to aid their reintegration to mainstream in due course.

The students’ lessons begin at 9.15am with a 3.15pm finish. If a student is on a part-time timetable hours will be mutually agreed. In the event of lateness or pupil absence, parents/guardians are required (in the same way as in mainstream school) to notify the hub as soon as they are able to do so that day with the reason. Please see the “contact us” section for details. It is a legal requirement for us to record a daily register. Thank you for your support with this. In the event of snow/bad weather, please refer to Towers School Website and local radio stations for closure details.
